Food Storage

Sunday, all day, I just had this overwhelming feeling that we needed to make a change on how we were spending our money so we took our money set aside for our personal trainers for Christmas and purchase more food storage. So... enter COSTCO! Granted I will probably need to order some food from provident living or some other company but for now we have a TON of food, (and condiments and spices). Normally when we spend a lot of money we almost always feel guilty afterwards in some respect or another. However, this time was so much different. We felt so good about what we had purchased, even though we spent more money then I had planned on the whole trip (I forgot we had no food to eat on a normal basis so we needed to get normal food also!). I am so grateful for food storage, no we haven't had to use it yet but knowing it's there is great. I love knowing that we are preparing ourselves more fully for the future, whether it's a pandemic, a loss of income, we are more prepared. And don't worry, we did not forget the oreos!

This has been on my mind for a month or so and I really need to plan a day to go get some food storage for us. Thanks for the great example. Maybe I'll go this Saturday!

I hear ya. Totally time to get our homes in order. I feel so much better knowing we have our three month supply in the garage. We will build up from there once we get stationed at our base and have an income! I did a Pampered Chef show at Jill Norris' house last night, or where they're living which is at Stephen's parents house. Their food storage room is A-MAZING. It's exactly what I have envisioned for me...one day after my husband is a successful attorney!

I wouldn't even know what to do with the type of food you can store indefinitely!

Good idea Tracy, I need to think about it more, or at all. Maybe because we don't have any little ones to worry about, we forget about storage. I should get on it!

I too heart a shelf reliance food storage system. One day. With said successful husband attorney and income. Anyhow, I see you're going to be in Tuscaloosa this weekend? PLEASE can I butt into some plans somewhere and see you? I have NOTHING to do on Sat and would love to see you for a few hours. Please, pretty please? Send me an email. :)

You've definitely got the bug now! I'm still procrastinating my food storage post. Perhaps I should hop to it. It looks like there's lots of interest.
