Finally the Celebrations!

So here are some WAY overdue picutres of Isabel at her two birthday celebrations. The first are pictures from when we were with Mike's family. Isabel was SO hyper after her first bit of sugar...she was adorable though after she finally figured out what the piece of cake was and that she could eat it, she wanted to feed me some so she reached out to put it in my mouth! After she was cleaned up she crawled around all over the living room playing with everyone.
The second set of pictures are from my parents house in Seattle where we went for the weekend. We had so much fun! Although she did get sick and slept. I being the overly kind mother stripped her down and put her on the granite bar which was cold and the poor thing started shivering. So Niki and I ran her upstairs, thru her in the bath and then tucked her in for a four hour nap. Needless to say she missed her party but I enjoyed it rather well! Oh! As a shout out to my sister, Leslie and I made cakes for her, mine was a ladybug and Leslie's was a sun complete with sticks dipped in Chocolate and covered with yellow frosting! Hurray for Auntie's!

Going, going gone

There are some people who come into your life for various reasons, why they don't always stay is a mystery to me. When you have friends that you just love and that are there for many reasons and aid you though difficult times, who may not agree with your choices and who you may have disagreements with, it's hard to see them go. The funny thing about this is they do often actually "go" anywhere. You both stay where you are living around each other casually intersecting at times but seeming as strangers when you do. I'm not sure why it bothers me so but it's saddens me to know that these friendships will never be rekindled.

I love this picture of Isabel in the sailor dress that her great-grandma in Georgia bought her.... The picture with the plastic tub on her head.... well that was her dad being mean! The final picture is a tribute to her Auntie who wants her to be a duck...she's rebelling.
On Saturday we headed down to Mike's family for a family get together... they suprised Isabel with some presents! We were so touched, I didn't know that anyone besides Carol (Mike's Grandma)and Mike's immediate family knew. I guess work travels fast! They were all so kind land got her some CUTE outfits for later. All is going well on the homefront. Isabel and I are heading to Seattle for the long weekend to visit with family ( my Dad's family has never met her..)and have a birthday party. We are also going to see some of my dearest friends. I can't wait!!!

I know that I need to be posting pictures from Isabel's first birthday, and I hopefully will this weekend but I had to share a wonderful day with you first. After the the three of us picked up a picture of Isabel we had taken today (her 1st birthday picture) we walked around the mall and ended up at Ann Taylor Loft (my favorite store). Knowing that we were paying things off I wasn't concerned with not really buying myself clothes for approx 2 years. However, Mike surprised me and told me that he has a secret savings put aside just for me to be able to buy myself clothes and treat myself instead of always buying for him and Isabel. Now this may not seem that cool to anyone else but I wanted to cry I was so thankful, and so surprised and grateful that I have a husband that puts his wants aside so I can do something that will make me feel more beautiful and more like a woman again! I love my husband!!!

Major Changes

I am so glad to be back to my blog. We have had one heck of a week. When it is all said and done we will have moved to another location, sold our house, become almost completely debt free, had our new house's foundation poured, pulled an all nighter with Isabel, resigned from a job, and gone house shopping for a new house to flip. Oh and had a little stress in our lives!
It feels so amazing to be completely done with the other house. There was just a huge weight lifted off our shoulders. Mike is a little sad to see the house go, but I understand, there was not one space in that house that was left untouched by him. His heart and soul for the last 3 years is in that house. His blood, sweat and tears literally.
So the house we're staying in is great we have a lot of room and for the first time in a while all my food is in ONE kitchen! I get to have fun learning how to cook with a gas stove.
I have to say I'm getting so excited for this summer, I am going to Seattle for Mother's day. There is a wedding that is taking place, a best friend had her miracle baby and will be home, and Isabel's first birthday celebration! My dad's family has not seen her yet so they will get to now! Plus my other best friend and her husband and baby will be there also! I am also going to NC for my cousin's wedding and then in July Mike, Isabel and I are all going home to see my family again!
Before this gets to terribly long I'm going to leave myself something to write about tomorrow and just put a bunch of cute pictures of the family up! The first three are of Isabel playing peek-a-boo all by herself!

It's been awhile

It has definately been awhile since I've been here. The update would be that we are close to finishing our house, most of the big stuff is done but there is still a ton of little stuff left to do, I just hope we can have it all finished in time. I am losing one more day of working on it because the wonderful lady who is letting us stay at her house (she has a fully finihsed basement) wants me to come over before we move in and help her clear out her things that are in the area we'll be staying in, so I'll probably lose next Monday of work. Hopefully someone in Mike's family can come and take my place. Other then that, Izzy cut her first tooth this last Thursday! She is trying to crawl like crazy but since our house is so not ready for a baby that's mobile, there isn't much room for her to go. As soon as we get in the house for the summer she can crawl up and down the hall till her hearts' content! I am hopefully going to have some new pictures attached with this. Mike's computer has been going a little crazy so I hope it works. For those of you that don't have much else on your prayer lists, Mike and I would appreicate a few on our behalf. We need all the help we can get so that this house closes on time ( the other agent still hasn't gotten back to us yet on when the apprasial will happen!!!!! We close one week from tomorrow!!!). So thanks in advance! I have to retire, I'm exhausted!

Birthdays

Today is the birthday of a good friend. Her and I have been friends for 1 1/2yrs and it has been great. She's seen me through a lot of interesting/hard/great times and I am so excited for her on her day...today is the big 30 for her. I am hoping to get a cake made and take her a piece today but we'll see how that goes...I have to try and get a few seconds while Izzy is quite or napping when I'm not napping myself.
