Election

I have never really been scared for an election. I am this year. We are in a country that was founded by men and women wanting a better life, freedoms to live how they wanted in a land that allowed them to start over, create a life they wanted that was not run by their 'government'. This election is simply for me the a bit of a chose of the lesser of two evils, McCain may not be my first choice for the President, however I will never vote for a man that is willing to ASAP sign a piece of legislation allowing partial birth abortions and says on the campaign trail that he'll teach his daughters morals but if they make a mistake does not want them to be 'bothered' with a baby.

WHAT!!!! Where are the morals in that. Where are the teachings of equality that he says he's for... he assumes most every white person that doesn't want him in the office as a rich bigot... (ok maybe not everyone but close) he talks about race constantly as is the type of person that is keeping race a huge issue.... be a man and let it go.. most of the country has. Lastly I am for a free country, not one run by government and by a man that wants to bring our country down to the level of a socialist one.. see in history how well that worked out for the people. He will ruin this country and leave us out to dry all the while blaming everyone else but himself for our problems. Yes it's true that many problems the president faces are inherited... look at the terrorist attacks immediately after W took office you can't tell me Clinton didn't' leave the door open for that one.. look at the housing market, again Clinton forced banks to give sub prime loans and loans to Americans who could not afford it... just tantalize them and take it away a few years later when someone else is in office. I'm not saying the W is the best President we've ever had, our next President will inherit issues from him as well.. our debt due to war for example. But quit people quit assuming that all the problems are from W and we need a Dem in office, just to make a change, anyone can make a change but is it in a direction that you truly believe that we need to be going? Can you look passed the tax cuts/hikes that will be handed out (by both parties I'm sure) and focus on issues that affect us as people, as a nation. The attacks on the family, the attacks on our morals, the attacks on our nation from inside as well as out that will have more impact then just monetarily. I'll pay more taxes if it means my kids will not have to attend school and be taught that gays are also a perfect family unit, that condoms are the answer... again where are the morals in that, whatever happen to abstinence (yes I know not everyone believes in it but it can still be taught as the best way to avoid pregnancy and STD's and DRAMA).
I truly hope that everyone can get passed the flowery speeches, (the man does have a talent for it not doubt), past the rhetoric and see into the soul of a man I am truly terrified of becoming our next president.

This is why I am somewhat glad that I can't vote, being a resident not citizen. Hubby know's he is voting for both of us and better do right! ;-)

Good lord, calm down. Why does everyone become Nostradamus during an election?! I love you very much Tracy, but I want you to know the world will not end if Obama is elected. Abortions will not be free on every street corner. Hysteria is overrated. That's what politicians manipulate on both sides to get you to vote for them. Socialism... jeez. The Cold War is over. Accept the fact that we are realizing free market capitalism doesn't work. Obama is not Stalin. He is not Mao. Get over it. Vote for McCain, fine. Though if you base your morals on a position on abortion, it's a pretty narrow view on the value of life.

I understand you comment, but abortions is not the only basis of my vote, but yes, it got me a bit fired up.. in case you couldn't tell ;-)

wow...election time is blast at your house huh? I had no idea you were so political. I guess blood pressures rise when anyone brings up the subject in your home? Not to be sounding to liberal, but I have to agree with your sister a bit. A presidential election comes and suddenly it is dooms day if the 'wrong' guy is elected. Interesting...
