Slows cooker bags

I just had to post really quick. There is not much more I hate, and will delay, to the point of...well a disgusting mess, then washing a huge baked on mess out of the crock pot. Especially if I've made a roast. That greasy, fatty residue is enough to make me gag. Well a few months ago I bought some Reynolds slow cooker bags on sale. Let me just say ....heaven in a cardboard box. Simpy place the bag around the crockpot bowl, add and cook as you normally would. When you're done.....simply task out the bag and throw it away! Genius, best thing next to Gouda cheese. The second time I used one I punctured the bag with a fork but the ensuing mess was still next to nothing. I made an awesome tamale pie tonight but wanted to use shredded chicken instead of meat so I threw 6 giant chicken breasts (not all for my pie!) and some salsa and let it cook for 5 hrs. After taking the chicken out I threw out the bag and put away the crock pot. Huge time and mess saver in my little kitchen (and sink). So if you haven't used them go now, right now and get them.

All I got from this promotion is that you actually make roast. Hmmm...

I saw these at mom and dad's. They should make them out of foil or something. Or maybe just using foil will be better... Cuz I gotta say, yumm? Cooking in plastic bags... There's a reason BPA-free baby bottles are the rage right now.

foil, baby.

Kill joy. ;)

Ok, I'm glad Leslie was the kill joy, because I was gonna do it. LOL

Just stick the pan in the sink and fill it with water!!

If I was a true killjoy I wouldn't have provided an alternative. I also would have been more descriptive rather than providing a wikipedia link. But just think: now you can also recycle your foil after a quick rinse, making you feel even better than tossing plastic in the trash that will suffocate a baby bird someday.

By the way... No recycling here. Rachel, is so sad but I would leave it in the sink for a week or so and just change the water so it wouldn't be stinky. Sad I know. I will try and be better....after I use. Up the 3 other boxes I have.

Hilarious comments! I agree about the plastic v. foil though. But, since I'm too lazy to recycle, I soak it and let the dishwasher do the rest. My dishwasher is awesome. It's just like the ones on the dishwasher soap commercials that you don't think really exist.
