Pictures

So.... i know y'all are so tired of my excuses... but this one is good. Mike was downloading our pictures to his computer yesterday and of course we delete them off the memory card on the camera... well.... right after we did that his computer crashed briefly and all the pictures he had just uploaded.. well they didn't have a chance to fully import so we lost the last 2 months on camera. Very sad... My sister is probably crying now but we'll try and recreate all the wonderful moments of torturing our daughter and all her fun soccer practices.
Sadly, Isabel didn't win that photo contest she was in... I'm totally biased but she was still MUCH cuter then the winners. Below is the picture I chose to use. I loved everyone's input and probably to her detriment I chose this on because I thought is showed a bit of her personality, not just a cute posed photo.

My sister leaves for Africa tomorrow, for 9 months,.. as long as her flight can get to London with Iceland's volcano trying to reek havoc. It seems a bit surreal that I won't be able to just pick up a phone and call her whenever Isabel says something cute or whenever Isabel just wants to talk to her Auntie. We did set up Skype and Isabel... well she just likes to watch herself on camera but it makes for great entertainment.

Saturday is our walk for March of Dimes, It seems so odd that it's been 1 year and 8 months since we lost Brooklyn, in some ways it seems so recent and in others that was a lifetime ago. I'm very grateful that we get to participate in this organization and help all babies one day be born healthy. So please donate what you can to our team.

never blogging

So I wanted to post just because I never post. I have been so crazy busy with work, Isabel, work, work and more work. One day I'll even post pictures... one day. I still never seem to have time to get on-line anymore, at least not on a computer... only on my phone. So happy spring to all around... it's been 85 and wonderful here all week.

Spring is here!

I'm so excited that spring is finally here!!! This week just might be up to 80 degrees and I can't wait. Tomorrow is our Easter playgroup hosted by yours truly... which means nothing other then I delegated stuff out... Easter egg hunt... bunny and egg shaped cookies for decorating....candy... and playground! Hopefully it turns out well. Isabel is super excited to see her friends.
I hope everyone had a chance to stop by Courtney's blog for her contest... It ends tonight! *fingerscrossed-ihopeiwin*
My sister is leaving in 23 days to go to Africa for 9 months to do her research for her dissertation, we are going to miss her but are SO HAPPY for her to be heading over to Dar es Salam in Tanzania (Leslie I hope I spelled all the right!)

Everyone please don't forget to donate to our March of Dimes team, even $1 will help!

Oh and I signed up as a volunteer for the NICU Parents group at the hospital. I can't wait to get started. It's a group that helps to support current parents of NICU kids and provide moral support that the nurses and MD's just can't provide. And if I ever have to have another baby in that situation.... the new center private room pods are AMAZING!!! each baby get private room (multiples are all together in bigger room) the rooms are about the size of a normal bedroom, with at least one couch and chair, breastpump, computer (for nurses), privacy screen and sliding double glass doors. Hello Taj Mahal. The hospital is building a new wing for the NICU and we'll be one of the top 3 in size in the whole country. They are having a Ronald McDonald type facility on the 2nd floor for only NICU families, showers, washer and dryers, computers, kitchen, meditation room etc. (as well as a large Ronald McDonald house on campus for everyone else to use)
I just have to go thru the hospital orientation and get a TB test and I'm in!!! That's the big exciting news at our house.

Sorry the post is a bit boring, no good stories about Isabel eating cat food....:)
She is entered in a contest so if you have a second want to look at the pictures I have to choose from .

YEA!!!

I can log in again! I haven't been able to for some unknown reason.. you'd think I forgot to pay a bill. So on to more exciting news. My dad came into town last weekend and stayed for 48 hrs. I love it when he comes. He fixed my car, played and played and played with Isabel. Caught Isabel doing her 1st self accomplished booty shake to music and her 1st somersault, who knew the song on the closing credit of Night at the Museum was so exciting. Sat. we headed to a parade, the Moolah Shriner's Circus was in town and Isabel LOVED all the "Izzy sized" stuff (read small like her), We tossed her up in the air.. and up and up and threw her on to couches and beds. She loved it. In keeping up with the McLees family tradition we headed to Costco, twice, and Izzy got to eat her hotdog with her G'pa. Of course I don't have my camera so if I took any pictures I'll get them up. My dad got all the cute ones. So I can finally get back on line and stay up to date. We are still working hard to raise money for March of Dimes. My banners don't work well but we have over $250 already and I'd love to have everyone donate $5 who reads this. I'm off to get some work done and maybe get my Etsy store up and running.......

March of Dimes: Team Brooklyn Rose

Hey everyone, we are gearing up again for the annual March of Dimes, March for Babies. We are of course walking in memory of Brooklyn. For those that don't know, March of Dimes is committed to helping all babies, one day be born healthy. Unlike most non-profits where only 50% of the money is actually used for the purpose... March of Dimes uses over 70% of its fundraising and money for their mission. The money raised works harder for it's intended purpose. We have a goal of raising $1000 this year. With your help we can do it. Please click on the link to the left and help up reach our goal. With this research families like ours, will be able to have children without the heart ache that my family has had. even if $5 is all you can contribute... if everyone gave $5 we would be able to reach our goal. If you want to fund raise for our team where you are please let me know and I will send you some supplies. Please feel free to also have other friends and family to stop by and donate as well. If you want to walk with our family the March for Babies is on Saturday April 24th at Forest Park. You can go to www.marchofdimes.org and sign up with our team to help us raise money and walk.

Life as of Late

The past few weeks we've tried to do some more fun stuff as a family We headed to Central West End for their Ice Festival where Isabel got to go on an ice slide, play miniature golf outside... well a couple of holes, and eat her first s'mores, she loved it!

I also spent a lot of time making these brooches for a meeting Mike went too. There were 20 all together but these were my favorite 9.

Then lastly today our city also had an ice festival so we went down there today and saw all the ice sculptures. Isabel loved the angel, she said it looks just like Brooklyn's angel in my room ( a friend gave me a beautiful angel snow globe)! The 2nd favorite was the LIghtening McQueen one.

Lastly, the cute girl has had fun playing with my old make-up... and look how grown up she looks! I've lost my little girl! and just for Leslie... a cute picture of Isabel eating... what else... parasean cheese popcorn in her Izzy Sized bowl Leslie made her for Christmas!
